ASSURE Research & Development Corporation

As one of the leading research universities in the country, Mississippi State provides faculty and staff working with external funding sponsors a wide range of resources and tools, including the ASSURE Research & Development Corporation (ARDC). ARDC is focused on protecting university personnel and other assets as the university works to support and grow its overall research enterprise.

The Mississippi State University ASSURE Research & Development Corporation (ARDC) is a University formed research corporation organized to promote, develop and administer opportunities arising from research or technological innovations of a scientific or educational nature, and to promote economic development.

The purposes of the organization are:

  • To encourage, promote and support activities related to the development of new technologies and research initiatives;
  • To engage in activities related to the stimulation, protection and exploitation of intellectual property developed at, by, or in association with Mississippi State University;
  • To attract and retain business and industry in the State of Mississippi and the region by assisting with the research and development of new technology through utilization of contractual agreements;
  • To facilitate the transfer of new and beneficial technology to the commercial marketplace;
  • To promote development of new business and industries in Mississippi and the region formed for the purpose of bringing technology developed by MSU to the marketplace;

Currently, ARDC administers industry contracts to support MSU's research enterprise, including the FAA Center of Excellence for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (ASSURE). ARDC also supports the university's industry research efforts by providing contract administration for select research activities with unique contractual challenges.
